Sponsor Tracy’s 10 kilometer run for Cancer Research UK

Dear DJ-ing friend Tracy can be such a moody bitch at times! ;) Put a smile (struggled to find a photo, sorry Traysay :P) back on her face by sponsoring her 10 kilometer run at Bristol’s Ashton Court Estate on the 30th of September to raise money for Cancer Research UK! She did after all bring the (girl-)sexy back and spins some mighty fine Minimal Techo & Tech House too boot! :P Sponsor her, you know you want to! :D

The “non-post” post…

Have updated the rather dusty “About Me” page, as it was penned during the time I was really fresh out from my 2nd complete decade as opposed to rapidly approaching my 3rd… ho hum!

My laptop for sale!

As I no longer need the laptop I’ve been using for the last year and a bit, it’s listed up on eBay for anyone wanting to buy it. Bidding ends on the 24th of October31st of October10th of November21st of November… (3rd4th time lucky, fucking time-wasting bastards)

Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 released!

For those of you that insist on using that train-wreck of a web browser called Internet Explorer 6, which has changed little since Internet Explorer 4 which was released back in 1997, do yourself a favour and get Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3. Microsoft finally get to the right millennium with this new browser having parity to Phoenix (Firefox of yore) of 2002 vintage in terms of web standards compliance. Those wanting a 2006 web browsing experience, just grab Firefox 1.5.0.x or Opera 9.0.x! ;)

phpBB 2.0.21 released!

phpBB “Bertie’s Summer Vacation” 2.0.21 has been released! — This release is a cumulative bug fix update, which includes a number of minor security fixes, all topped off with a few performance tweaks. Running a phpBB 2.0.x? Upgrade before I set Bertiezilla upon you! :P

Trackbacks ahoy!

Now that Akismet allows one to get an API key without needing to sign-up for an abandon-blog on WordPress.com, I’ve installed and enabled the plugin. Since Akismet can also deal with trackback spam, all previous posts which allowed regular comments, trackbacks have been turned back on for them once more too. ;)

Last weekend of the “Bertie Bear Bonanza”!

The phpBB “Conquering Olympus” Bertie Bear Bonanza ends on the 15th of May and shall be the last chance to order him before the price hike (or sold out)! :D

A tail of two Firefoxes… 1.5.0.2 & 1.0.8 released!

Firefox 1.5.0.2 & 1.0.8 are out! The usual raft of security fixes and bug quashing, though it is recommended all users should upgrade to the Fx 1.5.0.x line as Fx 1.0.8 shall be the last Fx 1.0.x series, which is explained by means of pretty graphics for those more visually orientated! ;) “New” for Fx 1.5.0.2 is the availablity of a Universal Binary for OSX for those with Macs powered by the legacy PowerPC architecture or the fancy new Intel Core architecture… :D

phpBB 2.0.20 released!

phpBB “Golden Super Furry Linen” 2.0.20 has been released! — A dozen and a half bug fixes with a few edge-case security and performance tweaks thrown in for good measure too. Note that “Visual Confirmation” (otherwise known as a Captcha) is now enabled by default for registration. Can you guess what I’m going to say next? Yes… if you are running and phpBB: Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade! :P
