@_@

Get a clue please. Firefox 2.0 is due for release in August '06 and just a natural progression of Firefox 1.5.0.x, with the former based upon Gecko 1.8.1 and the latter Gecko 1.8.0.x.

The benchmark for a 2007 browser would be Firefox 3.0 (née Minefield 3.0) which is based on Gecko 1.9... The roadmaps have been there for over a year.

I've got IE7B3 installed here too, though only for browser compatibility tests. Browser of choice for day-to-day use has been whatever the bleeding edge developmental builds of Firefox were. Trunk builds (named Minefield) are a little unstable now for such use, so have backed down to 1.8.1 Branch builds, otherwise known as Bon Echo, which will become Firefox 2.0. :D

Until Microsoft can figure out all the major bugs in IE7 (which might not be until its final release), I never recommend installing it. I’ve had a lot of people complain to me how it destroys the computer’s dll library during uninstallation.

I personally have IE7b3 installed on another computer, and it’s a lot smoother-running than the previous beta. As long as Firefox has the extensibility factor in its favor, I won’t even think about switching to other browsers. I like all the extensions available that add functionality no other browser can offer.
