Now that Akismet allows one to get an API key without needing to sign-up for an abandon-blog on WordPress.com, I’ve installed and enabled the plugin. Since Akismet can also deal with trackback spam, all previous posts which allowed regular comments, trackbacks have been turned back on for them once more too. ;)

  1. Cool, where do you get the key now? Somehow on their website I couldn’t find anything but the reference to wordpress.com :-(

  2. On WordPress.com’s sign-up page… change the radio button option to “Just an (sic) username, please”. Then you’ll get an API key emailed to you.
